RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shift positions starting at 5:30 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Float position covering all Medical/Surgical units at ThedaCare Appleton and ThedaCare Neenah, with potential to float to smaller ThedaCare facilities as needed
• Weekend requirement: up to every other weekend (every weekend candidates also considered)
• Holiday rotation as required
• No on-call or call back requirements
• Any missed shift must be made up within 2 weeks of the absence
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 with RNs paired with support staff (LPN/CNA) based on acuity
• Primary cases include Medical/Surgical, General Surgical, Oncology, Renal, CIWA, CHF, COPD, Stroke, Surgical Trauma and Ortho, DKA; experience with pre/post cath, post pacemaker, and TR bands strongly preferred
• Specialty unit exposure includes cardiac (pre/post, heart cath and pacemakers) and neurology (stroke, post TNK, neuro surgery)
• Patients will only be assigned within the traveler's skillset
• Must be comfortable floating between units and multiple facilities as part of the Clinical Resource Team (CRT)
• Scrub color requirement: black
• Required certifications: Wisconsin RN License, AHA BLS, and NIHSS
• AHA ACLS preferred
• EPIC charting experience within the last year required
• Minimum 3+ years of RN experience and 2+ years of Medical/Surgical experience required
• At least 1 prior travel contract strongly preferred
• Previous travel experience required; candidates whose home or facility location is within 50 miles of ThedaCare Corporate Center in Neenah, WI are not eligible
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
