PCU RN Job in Hilo, HI

Hilo Medical Center is seeking an RN for a flex pool position in the Progressive Care Unit. You will work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, scheduled for 36 hours per week following your first week of orientation. This is a float RN role rotating between medical and surgical units to support patient care across the facility.

Unit Details

• Medical Unit: 77 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:6 for days and evenings, 1:8 for nights
• Laulima (Surgical Acute) Unit: 18 beds with 1:6 ratios
• Cardiovascular Unit: 15 beds with 1:4 ratios

Clinical Responsibilities

You will provide direct patient care using Meditech EMR, Pyxis medication management, wound vacs, and chest tubes. Orientation is provided for each unit to ensure competency with unit-specific protocols and equipment.

Requirements

• Active State of Hawaii nursing license required by start date
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; up to 10 years preferred
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC preferred

Assignment Details

Start date: November 9, 2026. Assignment duration: 105 days. Weekly pay: $2,252. Please note there is no guarantee of hours beyond the scheduled 36-hour weekly commitment.
