Telemetry RN Job in Rochester, NY

Rochester – Unity Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Telemetry assignment. This is a day-shift, 3x12 block schedule running 91 days, starting November 2, 2026. You'll earn $2,098 weekly.

Role Overview

You'll work with cardiac, pulmonary, pain, GI, infection, and diabetes patients across adult and geriatric populations. Your duties include dysrhythmia interpretation and management, peripheral line care, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, Rapid Response and Code team protocols, and isolation precautions. You'll use telemetry monitors, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and Lifepacks.

Staffing & Flexibility

Day and evening patient ratios are 5:1 (potentially 6–7:1); night ratios are 6–7:1 (potentially 8–10:1 with call-outs). You'll be required to float within scope to Med Surg, ICU (stable patients), ED boarders, and acute brain injury units as needed. Every-other-weekend rotation is required; no on-call. Block scheduling is available but not guaranteed.

Support & Resources

PCTs assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year recent RN experience
• NY state nursing license (must be in hand at submission)
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic charting experience (hard requirement)
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement
• Scrubs: any combination of navy and white

Eligibility

Candidates must be located outside a 75-mile radius of the facility.
