Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Care for all types of med surg patients including overflow of post-op surgical hips/knees and psych patients
• Patient ratio of 4-5:1 in a 24-bed unit
• Administer heparin drips with remote tele tech unit monitoring
• Float across multiple campuses as needed
• Work every other or every third weekend depending on staffing and census
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) unless unit is closed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Non-billable orientation of 16 hours
• Wear navy blue solid scrubs
• Minimum 24 months of experience in Med Surg or Med Surg Tele required
• Charge experience required
• Preceptor experience preferred
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience caring for psych patients preferred
• No blocked shifts - department prefers candidates willing to extend past initial 13-week contract
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC)
• Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license required
• Skills checklist specific to Med Surg/Med Surg Tele required
• Professional reference from charge/supervisor/nurse manager or director within 24 months required
