Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Night shift position with weekend coverage required
• Block scheduling type
• Patient ratio of 5 patients per nurse on nights and weekends
• Minimum 1 year of experience required; 2 years preferred
• California RN license required with valid Nursys verification
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC)
• Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting system experience required
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Unit focuses on General Medical Surgical care with a specialization in Surgical Oncology
• Provide End of Life Care as needed
• Required skills include: use of Rapid Response/Code teams, peripheral line care and management, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, isolation precautions/PPE, blood product administration, central line blood draw, phlebotomy, PICC line management, starting and maintaining IVs, Heparin, and PCA
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
• Strong knowledge of nursing process, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology required
• Proficiency in intravenous treatments, wound care, and medication administration required
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills required
• Visual and hearing acuity required
