Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Orthopedic

Job Details:

• Work 8-hour shifts with night shift scheduled at 0.9 FTE (4 shifts one week, 5 shifts the next week)
• Day shift hours: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Work into permanent staff holiday rotation
• Patient ratio of 5 to 1
• Nurse aides (PCTs) available, 1 to 3 depending on census
• Charge nurse on unit does not take patients
• Travelers will have a home base unit but floating is required between both MedSurg units, with first float priority applying to EOW
• Floor-specific orientation consists of 1 shift on each unit for a total of 2 orientation shifts
• Common diagnoses and patient types include MedSurg and Orthopedic
• Night shift requires a minimum of 2 years of solid MedSurg experience; day shift requires a minimum of 2 years of experience
• Charting system: Cerner
• No telemetry or ventilator experience required
• IV and PICC team available during daytime hours
• Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available 24/7
• Hospitalist or intensivist available in-house
• Scrub color: Navy
• Required certification: BLS
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or up to 3 shifts for assignments shorter than 13 weeks
