Surgical Oncology RN Job in Plano, TX

You will join a 30-bed Surgical Oncology unit on the 4th floor of Tower C at Medical City Plano. This is a night shift position working 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., three shifts per week for 91 days, starting August 24, 2026. You will earn $1,708.20 per week.

Your Role:

• Provide direct patient care with a ratio of 1:5 to 1:6
• Administer medications and manage chemotherapy infusions
• Manage chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, and Foley catheters
• Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy
• Operate equipment including Baxter pumps, sequential compression devices, Mobilab, and glucometers
• Document care using the Meditech EMR system
• Communicate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care

Your Team:

Night shift staffing includes one Clinical Nurse Coordinator, five to six RNs, and two Patient Care Technicians. You will work collaboratively to support patient recovery and comfort. You may float to Medical Oncology and Med/Surg units as needed.

Requirements:

• Active RN licensure
• BLS certification
• Strong communication and empathy skills
• Ability to work every other weekend or four weekend shifts per month
• Adherence to attendance policy
• IV insertion and chemotherapy experience preferred

You will wear royal blue scrubs and work as part of a cohesive nursing team in a hospital setting. This assignment offers you the opportunity to develop surgical oncology expertise while maintaining the flexibility of travel nursing.
