Oncology RN Job in Dallas, TX

Join Medical City Dallas as a travel RN on the 8S Oncology unit. This is a 91-day assignment starting July 21, 2026, working nights (7 PM–7 AM) on a rotating schedule across three 12-hour shifts per week.

The Role

You will care for up to 4 patients on a 21-bed oncology floor, with census typically between 8 and 12 patients. Night shift staffing includes one charge nurse, three to four RNs, and one patient care technician. Your responsibilities include chemotherapy administration, blood and electrolyte replacement, strict intake and output monitoring, neutropenic precautions, and routine care tasks such as CHG baths, linen changes every 24 hours, and dressing changes every 7 days. You will document using Meditech EMR and work with Baxter infusion pumps.

Requirements

• Current RN license and BLS certification
• Oncology nursing experience required—candidates without this background will not be considered
• Hematology/oncology background preferred
• Chemotherapy certification preferred

Unit Details

You may float to hematology/oncology and bone marrow transplant units as needed. Rotating weekends are required; there are no on-call responsibilities. Royal blue scrubs are required. The unit follows strict protocols including neutropenic precautions, line and cap changes every 96 hours, and comprehensive infection control measures.

Compensation

Weekly pay is $1,576.80. This assignment runs 91 days.
