Job Details:

• Night shift position working 36 or 48 hours per week
• 52-week contract
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required, must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
• Unable to approve time off around Christmas
• May float between sections on occasion
• Provide respiratory therapy services for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Work within a multidisciplinary team environment across Surgical/Neuro, Heart and Vascular, Medical, and Unit Rotation service teams
• Perform and assist with procedures including intubation, extubation, bronchoscopy, BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), mechanical ventilation, and arterial blood gas drawing and interpretation
• Administer aerosolized medications including albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, and Spiriva
• Manage tracheostomy care, fresh tracheostomies, and ET tubes
• Perform chest physiotherapy, pulmonary hygiene, and sputum specimen collection
• Experience with nitric oxide (iNO), inhaled Flolan, and ARDS management preferred
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills required
• Must work at the top of licensure and be proactive in a multidisciplinary team environment
• 4 years of experience required; candidates with 2+ years of experience may be considered
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required certifications: RRT, BLS, VA State License
• ACLS and ACCS preferred
