Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Rotate holidays with permanent staff
• No on-call or standby requirements
• 3-shift unit/department specific orientation
• 1 year of experience required with 1 travel assignment
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS (ACLS not required but highly recommended)
• Work in a 22-bed observation unit with a 1:5 or 1:6 patient ratio
• Charge nurse occasionally takes patient assignments
• CNAs available on the floor when able
• Heavy telemetry unit monitored by central monitoring
• RNs perform own EKGs and draw own labs
• Heparin is the only common titratable drip used on this unit
• No ventilators on this unit; BiPAP and CPAP may be present
• Floating to med surg may be required
• Cancellation policy allows 12 hours every 2 weeks
• Charting system: MEDITECH
• Acute care setting
• Scrub colors required: Caribbean Blue top and bottom, White top with Caribbean Blue bottom, or all White top and bottom
• Fast-paced unit with high patient turnover, including up to 16 discharges per day
