Telemetry RN Job in Elmira, NY

Arnot Ogden Medical Center (AOMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 90-day travel assignment on a specialized 34-bed stroke telemetry unit. You will work 3x12 night shifts at $2,455 per week, beginning November 15, 2026.

Your Role

You will provide direct patient care in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment focused on acute stroke and complex telemetry patients. You will perform frequent neurological assessments including NIH Stroke Scale evaluation, monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms in real time, and respond immediately to cardiac changes. Your responsibilities include administering medications using BCMA standards with emphasis on safety and accuracy, coordinating care with providers, therapy, and case management, and managing admissions, discharges, and patient flow in a high-turnover setting.

Clinical Focus

• Practice primary and team nursing models as needed
• Ensure compliance with stroke core measures including dysphagia screening, patient education, and individualized care plans
• Maintain focus on falls prevention, skin integrity, and patient safety protocols
• Document assessments and interventions thoroughly

Requirements

• Current RN license
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Ability to read basic rhythm strips prior to arrival
