Opportunity:

RN - Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with weekends as needed
• Float between 3rd and 7th floor Telemetry units as needed to cover staffing needs
• 3rd floor has 20 beds with a cardiac focus including post-op procedural, post-op open heart, TAVRs, ablations, post caths, pacemakers, and med tele patients
• 7th floor has 35 beds covering general tele including post procedural overflow, CHF, sepsis, electrolyte imbalances, post strokes, and more
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 with CNA support available on both floors
• Must have post procedural cardiac experience including cath lab, ablations, and open heart
• PCU and stepdown experience preferred
• Must be able to read, interpret, and document telemetry appropriately
• Required to titrate Heparin and Insulin drips (rare); facility will train on insulin if needed
• Common drips include set rate cardiac gtt, amio, cardizem, dopamine, and dobutamine
• Respiratory therapy available on each floor to manage high flow, BiPAP, and CPAP; RNs may be asked to assist as needed
• Remote tele techs located on 3rd floor; nurses expected to read and interpret tele twice per shift
• Schedule is made 6 weeks at a time; travelers are asked to stay flexible to fill scheduling gaps
• Block scheduling not guaranteed with a maximum of 5 shifts in a row
• 5-6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• May be asked to work holidays but not expected to work every holiday
• Travelers are first to float and may be floated to any MS, MS-Tele, or Tele unit within the hospital or sister facilities in Meridian and Nampa
• 2 shifts of orientation provided (1 shift on 3rd floor, 1 shift on 7th floor)
• Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
• Charting system: EPIC
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required; prior travel experience preferred but not required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS
