Telemetry RN Job in Waterloo, IA

You'll work as a Registered Nurse on a 28-bed Telemetry unit at UnityPoint - Allen Hospital in Waterloo, IA. This is a 91-day travel contract starting October 5, 2026, with 4x12 night shifts and an every-other-weekend schedule. You'll earn $2,661 weekly.

Your Role

You'll provide direct patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5, primarily for post-operative surgical patients. Your responsibilities include:

• Reading telemetry strips and monitoring cardiac rhythms
• Managing cardiac drips including heparin, insulin, amiodarone, and cardizem
• Caring for general, thoracic, vascular, urological, gynecological, orthopedic, and podiatry patient populations
• Managing PCAs, epidurals, chest tubes, and CBIs
• Charting in EPIC EMR

You may float to other medical-surgical units, including behavioral health and the emergency department. No on-call responsibilities are required.

What You'll Need

• Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical, PACU, or post-operative care experience in a hospital setting
• At least one completed travel contract within the previous 12 months
• Telemetry strip reading experience
• Experience with surgical care and applicable patient types
• EPIC EMR experience
