ICU - Intensive Care Unit

Job Details:

• Schedule is 3x12s or 4x12s with every other weekend, floating, and holidays within the contract required
• 48-hour contracts are available with overtime billed after 48 hours
• Longer assignments through January 9, 2027, are available but not required
• Travelers must work two of the three winter holidays
• Typical patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Must be willing to float to Stepdown Unit, Emergency Department, or Medical-Surgical units to care for ICU patients being held
• Strong neuro critical care experience required, including post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke management
• Proficiency in ventilator management, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation, and dysrhythmia recognition and management required
• Experience with arterial line management, central line care, CVVHD/CRRT, ICP monitoring, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction preferred
• Patient populations include neurosurgical and post-stroke, respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical, trauma, sepsis and MODS, and heart failure
• Patients treated include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Three years of critical care experience preferred; strong candidates with less experience may be considered
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand at the time of submission required; no exceptions
• Must be proficient in Epic; no exceptions
• Required certifications: BLS (American Heart Association only), ACLS (American Heart Association only), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• EKG testing required; must score 80% or higher to pass with only one attempt allowed
• Candidates with any license or background hits will not be considered
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
