Med Surg RN Job in Petoskey, MI

McLaren Northern Michigan is seeking a registered nurse for a temporary Med Surg position in acute rehabilitation. This role offers the opportunity to provide direct patient care in a structured environment with a focus on rehabilitation and recovery.

Position Details

• Schedule: 3x12 nights, every other weekend required
• Duration: 91 days
• Start date: August 24, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,436.48
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Current Michigan nursing license
• Minimum 2 years of acute rehab experience
• BLS (AHA) certification
• Skills checklist to be completed within one year of application

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize clinical judgment to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions
• Assess, monitor, detect, plan, and take appropriate action to prevent potential physiological complications
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized written plans of care
• Conduct physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual assessments consistent with patient and family needs
• Demonstrate effective communication through collegial relationships, SBAR, and interdisciplinary communication
• Serve as a clinical resource and professional role model for the team

Expectations

You will be expected to maintain strict attendance. The facility operates under a 3-strike policy for absences or arrival more than 20 minutes late, which results in immediate termination. Commitment to the role and consistent presence are essential to success in this position.
