Med Surg RN Job in Chattanooga, TN

You'll work as an RN on the 30-bed medical surgical unit (2 West) at Parkridge East Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a 3x12 night shift schedule, working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Perform IV starts, lab draws, and NGT placement
• Manage wound care and monitor cardiac rhythms with advanced interpretation skills
• Operate equipment including wound vacs, heparin drips, suction, IV pumps, glucometers, bladder scanners, and feeding pumps
• Document patient care using the Editech system
• May float between 2 North and 2 West units as needed

Support and Environment

You'll have support from 2–3 technicians per shift, a clinical coordinator, charge nurse, manager, and director. The unit operates as a family environment with visible leadership, self-scheduling options, and a focus on learning and development. Recognition programs include patient appreciation cards, employee points, colleague recognition, Daisy awards, and Bee awards.

Requirements

• Current BLS certification
• Proficiency with IV starts, NGT placement, wound care, and cardiac rhythms
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Navy scrubs required; no fleece or sweatshirts

Compensation and Details

Weekly pay is $1,881. Your assignment begins October 5, 2026. You're expected to maintain a positive attitude, meet patient and family needs, perform service recovery as needed, and escalate issues through the proper chain of command.
