ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of experience required; unit accepts first-time travelers
• Every other weekend shift required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• Holiday coverage expected based on number of major holidays falling within assignment period
• Patient ratios of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• 12 orientation hours required
• Patients served include neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• 59-bed emergency department with a daily census of approximately 250 visits
• Telemetry competency exam required
• Facility is a Level 3 trauma center in process, primary stroke center, and CHF/STEMI/chest pain center
• Special equipment includes Arctic Sun and Glucommander
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS; preferred certifications include CPI, NIHSS, TNCC, and ENPC
• Required skills: triage, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and care of ventilated patients; preferred skills include continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Georgia or Compact nursing license required
