PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Day/night rotation schedule with 36 or 48 hours per week
• Work in a 48-bed step-down unit caring for cardiology, electrophysiology, and cardiac surgical patients
• Care for cardiothoracic surgical patients, pre and post CHF, telemetry, vascular, pulmonary hypertension, and temporary pacer patients
• Patient ratios: Days 1:3, Nights 1:4-5 depending on acuity
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent equivalent experience required
• MedSurg skills required include: chest tubes, feeding tubes, drips such as Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodarone, lines/tubes/drains for post-surgical patients, trachs/laryngectomies, telemetry, complex wounds, and central line care, maintenance, and blood draws
• Stepdown skills required include: hemodynamic monitoring, invasive blood pressure monitoring through arterial lines, Nitro, Primacor, Dobutamine, and Dopamine drips, Bi-PAP/C-PAP, low dose pressors, vasoactive medications and inotropes, trachs, complex wounds, lines/tubes/drains for post-surgical patients, and external pacers, epicardial wires, and TR bands
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• New Hampshire RN License or Compact License required with proof of state residency
