Med Surg RN Job in Rochester, NY

You will work as an RN on a specialized medical-surgical unit that serves adult patients with active co-morbid psychiatric and behavioral needs. This is a unique specialty unit—one of only a handful of similar units across the country—where you will combine medical-surgical nursing expertise with behavioral health awareness.

Your Responsibilities:

• Care for adult medical and surgical patients with concurrent psychiatric and behavioral issues
• Work rotating day, evening, and night shift schedules
• Manage charge nurse responsibilities as needed per unit requirements
• Accept weekend, holiday, on-call, and callback assignments
• Up to 48 hours per week billed at regular time
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a changing care environment

What You Bring:

• Current New York RN license
• Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience
• Psychology experience
• Telemetry experience
• BLS certification from American Heart Association (required)
• Willingness to care for a varied patient population

Position Details:

• 12-hour shifts
• 117-day assignment
• Start date: September 14, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,368.08
• Location: URMC Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY
