PCU RN Job in Chattanooga, TN

You are a Registered Nurse with cardiac and progressive care experience, seeking a 91-day travel assignment in Chattanooga. Parkridge Medical Center's Progressive Care Unit is a 29-bed cardiac-focused unit where you'll care for post-operative cardiovascular surgery patients transitioning from ICU and other high-acuity cardiac cases.

Position Details

• Shift: 3x12 nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Weekly pay: $1,898
• Schedule: 48-hour weekly guarantee with 3 weekend shifts per 4-week rotation
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling available for night shift
• Start date: October 19, 2026

Responsibilities

You will manage a 4:1 patient ratio with 2–3 Patient Care Technicians on night shift (depending on census). Your duties include Q6H head-to-toe assessments with full documentation, IV insertion, EKG interpretation, chest tube and DHT management, CVC care, tracheostomy experience, Foley management, and early mobility initiatives. You'll perform wound vac management, DKA management, NG/DHT placement, and assist with patient ambulation and ADLs.

Clinical Requirements

You must have solid experience with PCU drips: Dopamine, Dobutrex, Nitro, Heparin, Cardizem, Lidocaine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, Cardene, Labetalol, Insulin, and Precedex titration. Cardiac/telemetry experience and PCU or critical care background are required. BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.

Unit Environment

The unit uses Meditech for documentation and is equipped with Welch Allyn dynamaps, Phillips telemetry and MP2, Pyxis, Alaris pumps, Hill-Rom beds, and iMobile and MobiLab devices. Travel RNs float first on a rotating basis (oldest float date floats first). Navy scrubs are the required uniform.
