PCU Registered Nurse Job in Wisconsin Rapids, WI

Aspirus Riverview Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Progressive Care Unit (PCU), an 8-bed medical surgical intermediate care unit with telemetry monitoring. You will join a fast-paced team caring for stable, post-acute patients requiring close observation and skilled nursing intervention.

Role and Responsibilities

• Manage a patient ratio of 4:1 in an intermediate care setting
• Care for patients including those with sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, traumatic brain injury, orthopedic trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke
• Administer insulin drips and manage primary patient care
• Chart using EPIC system
• Float to other inpatient units and south region locations (Stevens Point, Plover, Divine Savior) as needed

Shift and Schedule

• Three 12-hour shifts per week, days
• Variable shift times: 6:45 AM–7:15 PM or 6:45 PM–7:15 AM with weekly or biweekly rotation
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Every other weekend required (Friday through Sunday)
• Every other holiday rotation required
• No on-call or callback responsibilities

Requirements

• Wisconsin RN License
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• EPIC charting experience
• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing
• 2+ years stepdown, intermediate care, or PCU experience
• At least one completed travel contract preferred but not required

Compensation and Duration

Weekly pay is $2,453.76. This 91-day assignment begins August 24, 2026. Any color scrubs are accepted.
