Med Surg RN Job in Nashville, TN

You will work as an RN on a 36-bed Medical-Surgical unit at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN. This is a travel position with a 91-day assignment starting September 14, 2026.

Schedule & Pay

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• $1,891 weekly
• 4 weekend shifts required within each 4-week block

Unit Details

• Patient ratios: 1:4 to 1:5
• Daily secretary support and PRN techs
• You will float over core staff as needed

Your Responsibilities

• Perform bedside shift reports and safety checks every 1–2 hours
• Conduct basic patient assessments and general care
• Manage wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, and chest tubes
• Care for post-stroke and post-seizure patients
• Monitor and maintain 100% medication scanning, including controlled substances
• Administer heparin drips (the only drip given on this unit)
• Operate dialysis and PCA pumps
• Apply fall prevention and HAI prevention protocols, including CVC and Foley monitoring with standard precautions

Equipment You Will Use

• PD Cyclers, Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lifts, Broda Chairs, Alaris IV Pumps
• Meditech documentation system

Post-Op Focus Areas

The unit handles amputations, ostomy placements, drain and chest tube management, oral surgeries, and wound vacs.

Required Credentials & Certifications

• Current RN license
• BLS certification
• NIHSS certification

Dress Code

Scrubs in Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, or Ceil Blue.
