Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work night shifts, 3x12s from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend, may vary based on need
• Floating to other units and/or campuses required as needed
• Care for 5-6 med-surgical, non-monitored patients per shift with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 on both day and night shifts
• Specialize in Vascular and Urology patient population with overflow from General Surgery, Women's Specialty, and Medicine
• Receive patients from PACU, ICU transfers, and the ED area with an average length of stay of 1-2 days
• Perform dressing changes and provide care for patients with wound vacs and drains
• Must have Urology and Vascular experience
• Must be Med Surg/Tele experienced for floating purposes
• Required to pass an EKG exam with pre-start modules
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Must have active SC RN license
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Epic EMR experience required - minimum 1 year
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central line care/management, feeding tube care and management, heparin protocols, isolation precautions/PPE, nasal cannula, PCA, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure care, starting and maintaining IVs, wound care/wound vac, and continuous bladder irrigation
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, social services, rapid response teams, and unit secretary
