Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts
• 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
• 13-week contracts
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Every other weekend shift required
• Floating required to other Med/Surg Tele areas
• 36 hours of unit orientation
• Navy scrubs required
• Preferred scheduling type
• If a shift is called out, it must be made up the same week or at the end of the contract
• RTO after booking is not allowed; any call offs or additional RTO could result in a contract cancel and DNR
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with at least 1 year of direct Med/Surg experience
• Must have at least 2 successful travel contracts prior to applying - first-time travelers will not be accepted
• Must have IV Start and Telemetry skills, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Med/Surg Neuro experience required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Preferred certification: ACLS
• Epic charting system experience required; also uses PYXIS and SBAR
• Primary patient population includes stroke patients, neurosurgery patients, epilepsy, traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, and other neuro diagnoses
• Facility has a 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) with a 4:1 patient ratio
