ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Day shift position in a 13-bed ICU unit with an average census of 6 patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 for ICU and 1:3 for IMC/General patients
• Weekend requirement of 6-9 weekends per 6-week schedule
• Holiday shifts required
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling available based on unit needs
• First to float; may float within Zone 3 as determined by Nurse Manager
• Call or standby requirement determined by Nurse Manager
• Must be able to provide relief charge; charge RN takes 1-2 patient assignment
• No nurse aides on unit
• Responsible for monitoring own telemetry and completing daily strips using GE monitors
• Manage arterial lines, ventilators, and titratable drip management including vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, analgesics, metabolic, and specialized drips
• Care for critically ill patients with diagnoses including respiratory failure, EtOH withdrawal, neurosurgery, stroke, MI, and chronic disease
• Work with respiratory therapy equipment including CPAP, BiPap, high flow, and ventilators
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• CRRT experience preferred
• BSN not required
