PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You will work as an RN on a 40-bed Progressive Care Unit located on the 5th floor of the Owen Heart Center (Heart Tower) at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a travel position with a 91-day assignment starting August 24, 2026.

Shift and Schedule

• 3x12 nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Every other weekend requirement
• Weekly pay: $2,125

Your Role

You will care for patients with CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmia, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, post cardiac cath/stent, and post pacer/ICD/ablation. Your typical patient ratio is 1:4, with stretch staffing at 1:5. You will perform bedside cardioversion procedures, manage titratable and cardiac IV medications, and work with equipment including Zoll, Baxter pump, lift equipment, bladder scanner, and Cerner EMR.

Required Experience and Certifications

• Step-down or progressive care experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications such as nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drip, heparin, and Lasix/Bumex
• BLS and ACLS certifications required

Preferred Experience

• Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin)
• Relief charge experience

Scheduling and Float Expectations

You may float to all Med-Surg units, step-down units, and ER holding as needed. Dress code is all white, all navy blue, or white top with navy blue pants.
