PCU - Progressive Care Unit

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Work on a 40-bed Progressive Care Unit located on the 5th floor of the Owen Heart Center (Heart Tower)
• Patient ratio of 1:4 with stretch staffing at 1:5 ratio
• Care for patients with CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmia, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, post cardiac cath/stent, and post pacer/ICD/ablation
• Work with equipment including Zoll, Baxter pump, lift equipment, bladder scanner, and Cerner EMR
• Must have stepdown or progressive care experience
• Must have telemetry experience
• Must have experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications such as nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drip, heparin, and Lasix/Bumex
• Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) preferred
• Relief charge experience preferred
• Perform bedside cardioversion procedures
• Float to all MedSurg units, stepdown units, and ER holding as needed
• Every other weekend requirement
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Dress code: All white, all navy blue, or white top with navy blue pants
