RN - CVICU

Job Details:

• Day shift from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• 36 or 48 hours available per week
• 13-week contracts accepted
• Every other weekend requirement
• Self-scheduling type
• Float requirement applies
• Patient ratios: 1:1 days and nights, 2:1 weekends
• Daily census of 11-14 patients with 14 beds on unit
• Adult patient population
• Scrubs: Navy, white, or a combination of the two
• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience required; no first-time travelers
• Must have CVICU or open heart experience
• Travel experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, ECMO, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Post Cardiac Surgery (directly from OR), Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring, TAVR, Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD/RVAD), Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Continuous IV sedation, Titrate Cardiac drips, Care of Ventilated Patient, Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Isolation Precautions/PPE
• Preferred skills: Accessing/Managing Ports, Titrate Vasoactive drips, Assist with Chest Tube Insertion/Removal, BiPAP/CPAP management, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Ventilator Management
• Patient diagnoses include Post Open Heart Recovery, thoracotomies, esophagogastrectomies, and TAVR
• Special procedures include CRRT, Impella, and IABP
• Special equipment: VAD and ECMO
• Charting systems: EPIC, PYXIS, SBAR communication
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Radiology, and more
• Charting system experience preferred
