Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts available on days and nights
• Day and weekend patient ratio of 1:5-6; night patient ratio of 1:6
• Every other weekend required, or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule minimum (Saturday and Sunday); plus holiday rotation obligation
• No on-call required
• Float required to all medical units, renal, oncology, neuro, surgical, and cardiology units
• Workers in the float pool are asked to call in to a recorded line up to 1 hour before scheduled shift start time to receive unit assignment
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13-week contract; cancelled shifts must be the regular shift length assigned
• 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Patients served include adults and geriatrics
• Daily census ranges from 28 to 50 depending on specific unit
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS; IV start and Telemetry proficiency required
• Preferred certification: NIHSS
• Required skills include: central line care/management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, telemetry and remote monitoring, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions/PPE, oxygen administration, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Special equipment required: lift devices (training provided), ceiling lifts, and bladder scanner
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Charting system: EPIC

• Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per 13-week contract
