PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with variable scheduling
• Weekend shift required every 2 weeks
• Patient ratios of 1:3 for days, nights, and weekends
• Adult patient population
• 24-bed unit with a daily census of 15 patients
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Travel experience required - no first-time travelers
• Epic EMR experience required with a minimum of 1 year
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Key skills include cardiac telemetry, arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care/management, care of ventilated patients, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, titration of insulin drips, tracheostomy care/management, and wound care/wound vac
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• May be required to float to other units based on census needs, limited to units where competencies have been demonstrated
