ED Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department. This is a 13-week contract position starting October 26, 2026, with guaranteed 36 hours per week at $2,433 weekly pay.

Shift and Schedule

• 3x12 hour shifts, days
• PM shifts: 9:00 AM–9:00 PM, 10:00 AM–10:00 PM, or 11:00 AM–11:00 PM
• Night shift: 5:00 PM–5:00 AM
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• On-call shifts available upon advance request but rarely required
• No float requirements

The Role

You will work in a fast-paced Trauma Level II emergency department with 18 beds, caring for diverse patient populations including cardiac, stroke, neuro, pediatric, geriatric, and respiratory cases. Patient ratio is 3–4 per nurse. Responsibilities include drawing labs, performing nebulizer treatments, and charting in Epic. You will utilize the Pyxis medication dispenser, with X-ray staff and respiratory therapy available on-site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Trauma Level I or II experience required for candidates without prior travel nursing experience
• Prior travel experience preferred
• Wisconsin RN License required
• Current BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS certification (ARC or AHA)
• Epic charting experience required
• Associate Degree or Certificate minimum; Bachelor's Degree preferred
