Opportunity:

RN - Cardiac Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Will accept 36 or 48 hour contracts with longer contracts of 13-26 weeks also accepted
• Patient ratio of 1:6, varying per acuity
• Float required as needed at unit discretion
• 4 weekend shifts required per 4 weeks
• No on-call required
• Must be willing to work holidays including 2 of 3 major holidays
• Maximum of 7 days of pre-approved time off; no RTO during first week of contract
• 2 years of cardiac experience required; first-time travelers accepted with required experience
• MS/Tele/Step down experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS; NIHSS preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Epic charting system experience preferred; also utilizes Pyxis and SBAR communication
• Scrubs: Navy blue pants and white top
• 24-hour unit orientation
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Patient diagnoses include Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, Aortic Stenosis/Regurgitation, Mitral Regurgitation/Stenosis, Endocarditis, Cardiomyopathy, PVD, PAD, Vasculitis, Carotid Stenosis, Venous Stasis, Sheath Management, and Sheath Removal
• Special procedures include CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO (Watchman procedure), VATS, Carotid Endarterectomy, FEM-POP Bypass, Amputations, Cardiac Surgeries, Thoracic Surgeries, Post Cath, Post DCCV, Post Electrophysiology Procedures, and Pacemaker Placements
• Special equipment includes Doppler, Bladder Scanner, EKG, Femoral Sheaths, TR Band, Fem-Stop, Chest Tubes, and Epicardial Pacing Wires; Arterial lines experience preferred but not required
• Contract staff may be assigned to a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
• Interview required; candidates must provide availability for interview within 72 hours of submission
