Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• 13-week contract working three 12-hour night shifts per week from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• 8 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period, combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks with cancelled shifts matching regular shift length
• Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
• Block scheduling is not available
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off
• 2 years of experience required; previous charge and teaching hospital experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Charting system: Epic (experience preferred)
• Required skills include: cardiac telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote), use of rapid response teams, post cardiac angiogram, post MI, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care and management, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure management, blood product administration, central line care and management, phlebotomy, peripheral line care and management, PICC line management, starting IVs, heparin protocols, managing cardiac drips without titration, titrating cardiac drips, PCA, procedural sedation administration, CVA management, peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacements, surgical drains, chest tubes, external CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, non-invasive airway management, tracheostomy management, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac
• Preferred skills include: accessing ports and monitoring chemotherapy
• Patients served: adults and geriatrics
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
