ED RN Job in Merced, CA

Mercy Medical Center Merced is seeking a Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in the Emergency Department. You'll work three 12-hour day shifts per week, scheduled 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with an 11:00 AM start time. The assignment runs for 126 days beginning November 9, 2026, and pays $2,020 weekly.

Unit Environment

• 33 total patient care rooms, including 25 with cardiac monitors and 2 triage bays
• Patient ratio of 1:4 with an average of 210 patients seen per shift
• Charge nurse, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy available 24/7
• Cerner EMR and GE telemetry systems with central monitor stations at both nurse stations
• ER Techs with EMT, MA, or CNA experience available for tech duties and EKGs

Scheduling and Coverage

• Two weekends required per every four weeks
• Holiday coverage required as needed (2 out of 3 holidays)
• No floating outside of the Emergency Department

Support and Orientation

• Up to six shifts of floor-specific orientation with a preceptor
• No IV team on site

Patient Population

You'll care for routine and typical emergency patients. STEMIs, hemorrhagic strokes, and pediatric cases are transferred out.

Requirements and Expectations

• Valid California nursing license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Cerner EMR experience required—please note on your resume which facility you used Cerner at
• Strong and thorough documentation skills essential
• BSN not required
• Navy blue scrubs required, including scrub jackets; undershirts must be navy, white, or black
