Med Surg RN Job in Raleigh, NC

You will join the University of North Carolina Health Care System as a Med Surg RN in a Staffing Response Team/Float Pool position. This is an 8-week contract role offering 12-hour shifts at $1,713 weekly, beginning November 9, 2026. We are seeking an RN with a minimum of 2 years of Med Surg experience.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards
• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting
• Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required for the patient care plan
• Organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs
• Consult with appropriate resources regarding patients with complex care issues, unusual teaching needs, and those at high risk for discharge planning
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs of individual patients and families
• Collaborate with patient and family to prepare or update the plan of care
• Utilize multidisciplinary resources in planning care and identifying cultural and ethnic issues
• Recognize data from complex situations to determine priorities for care
• Communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care and participate in interdisciplinary team discussions
• Participate in development and achievement of unit goals and performance improvement activities
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure environment for all patients
