Operating Room RN Job in Abilene, TX

Hendrick Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room on a 91-day travel assignment. You will join a team serving patients across all age groups in a Trauma Level I facility.

Schedule and Compensation

• 4x10 shifts: 6:30 AM–5:00 PM or 8:30 AM–7:00 PM
• 5x8 shifts available: 6:30 AM–3:00 PM
• Monday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Friday options with call and late days as required
• Weekly pay: $2,701
• Start date: October 19, 2026

Role Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of operating room experience required
• Craniotomy and burr hole experience are mandatory
• BLS certification required; ACLS, CNOR, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC preferred
• Charge experience and travel experience preferred

Clinical Specialties and Procedures

You will support Neuro/Spine, Ortho/Trauma, and General/Robotics/Trauma cases. Required surgical skills include craniotomy, burr hole procedures, spinal fusion, laminectomy/discectomy, total joint replacement, Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, laparoscopic-assisted procedures, and general OR techniques. Altera/Allscripts charting experience is preferred but not required.

Working Environment

• 1:1 patient ratio across all shifts and weekends
• Serves adolescents, adults, pediatric, and geriatric populations
• Trauma Level I and Level II facility

Orientation and Support

Orientation includes 40 hours of training with non-billable modules averaging 6–8 hours. You will have access to interdisciplinary support from IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams. One pre-approved time-off request is permitted during your assignment.
