Operating Room RN Job in Alpine, TX

Big Bend Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Operating Room in Alpine, Texas. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 5, 2026, with a 5x8 days schedule at $2,581 per week.

Role Responsibilities

• Work all aspects of the Operating Room including Pre-Op, Circulating, and Post-Op care
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipating and planning patient care in the surgical environment
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technicians, and other personnel to provide safe, effective patient care
• Ensure surgical supplies are available and cases run in a timely manner
• Scrub and assist physicians during surgical cases
• Supervise personnel delivering patient care
• Communicate with patient families and maintain updated physician preference cards
• On-call required 1–2 weeks per month

Qualifications and Requirements

• Current Texas or multistate RN license
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• No local candidates will be considered for this position
