Operating Room RN Job in San Angelo, TX

Shannon Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room in San Angelo, Texas. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 19, 2026.

Position Details

• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM (5x8 days)
• Includes weekday, weekend, and holiday call responsibilities
• May include charge nurse duties
• Weekly pay: $2,563.20

Requirements

• Current Texas RN License
• Minimum 5 years of operating room experience
• Trauma Level II facility experience required
• Epic charting system proficiency
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Travel healthcare experience highly preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Clinical Competencies

You must be proficient with a wide range of surgical procedures, including general surgery, orthopedic and spine, robotic surgery, trauma, urology, neurosurgery, and laparoscopic cases. Experience with advanced surgical systems such as Da Vinci Xi and Mako Surgical System is preferred. You will demonstrate expertise in conscious sedation monitoring, infection control, laser safety, fire safety, and malignant hyperthermia protocols. Specimen handling, labeling, and universal protocol (time out) procedures must be second nature to you.
