OR Registered Nurse Job in San Angelo, TX

Shannon Medical Center is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse for a 91-day travel assignment in San Angelo, Texas. This is a full-time position offering 4x10 day shifts from 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM with a rotating day off, Monday through Friday. Weekly pay is $2,736.

About the Role

You will support a wide range of surgical procedures in a busy OR environment, including general surgery, orthopedic/spine, robotic surgery, laparoscopic procedures, trauma cases, and neurological procedures. Responsibilities include perioperative nursing care, conscious sedation monitoring, specimen handling and labeling, wound management, and urinary bladder catheterization. You may be asked to assume charge nurse duties and will be expected to maintain code response capabilities. Weekday, weekend, and holiday call responsibilities are included.

Required Qualifications

• Current Texas RN license
• Minimum 5 years of OR nursing experience
• Trauma Level II facility experience required
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Knowledge of infection control, laser safety, fire safety, and malignant hyperthermia response protocols
• Competency with universal protocol (time out) procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous charge nurse experience
• Travel nursing experience
• Experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System and Mako Surgical System
