Endoscopy RN Job in Rochester, NY

URMC Strong Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced RN for their Endoscopy department in Rochester, NY. This is an 89-week travel assignment ideal for nurses with strong procedural experience.

Role Overview

You will support gastroenterology and endoscopy procedures in a fast-paced clinical environment. Your responsibilities include patient assessment, medication administration, equipment preparation, and procedural assistance. You'll monitor vital signs, manage conscious sedation, and support patient recovery from anesthesia.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer patient questions and address concerns before, during, and after procedures
• Monitor and record patient vital signs throughout procedures
• Administer sedation medications and manage IV drips under physician supervision
• Perform expert IV insertion and maintain vascular access
• Prepare, sterilize, and maintain endoscopy instruments and equipment
• Provide direct procedural assistance to physicians
• Perform patient intake and pre-procedure preparation
• Recover patients from general anesthesia and conscious sedation
• Complete all required documentation and discharge records

Schedule & Duration

Monday through Friday with shifts from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. You may choose 5 eight-hour shifts or 4 ten-hour shifts per week. On-call coverage for overnight and weekend support is required. This position runs for 89 weeks, starting October 26, 2026.

Required Qualifications

• Current New York State RN license
• Minimum 2 years of endoscopy procedure experience
• Conscious sedation experience required
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and rhythm identification
• Expert-level IV insertion skills
• BLS Certification (AHA only)
• ACLS Certification (AHA only)

Compensation

Weekly pay is $1,732.
