ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts starting at 6:45 AM with bedside report
• Every other weekend required
• Rotate holidays in with core staff
• First to float; may float to other Sacramento facilities with rare possibility of mid-shift float to another facility
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• 30-bed emergency department with 1 trauma bay containing 2 beds
• Primary trauma center serving standard ED patients including psych holds with security when agitated
• Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips
• Experience working with ventilators required
• Charge nurse available and generally does not take patients but will provide break relief
• Nurse aides available based on census and staffing needs
• Self-scheduling used with manager balancing; schedules released 4 weeks in advance with ability to access remotely
• Overtime and extra shifts available; trades with other staff permitted
• 1-2 days of floor-specific orientation with preceptor
• Charting system: Cerner
• Scrub color: Navy; undershirts must be navy, white, or black; scrub jackets optional but must be navy
• Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
