PCU RN Job in Hilo, HI

Hilo Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for a flex pool position in the Progressive Care Unit. You will work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, scheduled for 36 hours per week after your first week of orientation. This is a float RN role rotating across multiple medical and surgical units.

Unit Details

• Medical Unit: 77 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:6 during days and evenings, and 1:8 for nights
• Laulima (Surgical Acute) Unit: 18 beds with 1:6 ratios
• Cardiovascular Unit: 15 beds with 1:4 ratios

Clinical Skills and Equipment

You will work with Meditech EMR, Pyxis medication dispensing, wound vacs, and chest tubes across the units you cover.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (up to 10 years preferred)
• Active State of Hawaii nursing license required by your start date
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC certifications preferred

What to Expect

Orientation will be provided for each unit you rotate through. Professional nursing attire and clean scrubs are required. Please note there is no guarantee of hours beyond the scheduled 36 per week.

Compensation and Timeline

Weekly pay is $2,295. The assignment duration is 105 days, with a start date of December 14, 2026.
