PCU RN Job in Hilo, HI

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position at Hilo Medical Center in Hilo, Hawaii. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning December 14, 2026.

Position Details

• Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Shift: 3x12 nights (6:45 PM to 7:15 AM)
• Schedule: 36 hours per week after orientation week
• No guaranteed hours; no on-call responsibilities
• Weekly pay: $2,295

Unit Information

The 15-bed unit includes 3 Step Down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds. You will manage patient ratios of 1:4 in Progressive Care and 1:3 in Step Down ICU settings. The unit operates 24 hours, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary nursing care including telemetry monitoring and continuous cardiac monitoring
• Perform telemetry strip reading and fingerstick blood sugar testing
• Chart using Meditech and manage medications via Pyxis system
• Operate BIPAP and other acute care equipment
• Float to Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and Emergency Room units as needed

Requirements

• Active State of Hawaii nursing license required by assignment start date
• Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the past year
• ACLS certification
• PALS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred
