PCU RN Job in Overland Park, Kansas

Join Overland Park Regional Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit. This 91-day travel assignment offers you the opportunity to work with a skilled team in a 18-bed unit caring for patients with moderate physiologic instability.

Assignment Details

• Shift: 4x12 hours, nights (7 PM–7 AM)
• Weekly pay: $2,620
• Start date: December 14, 2026
• 48 hours guaranteed preferred
• Self-scheduling with 3 required weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• No on-call requirements

Your Role

You will provide direct patient care to a 1:4–5 patient ratio with support from 2 Patient Care Technicians and 1 Unit Secretary. Your responsibilities include managing patients with COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, congestive heart failure, and tracheostomy patients. You will perform cardiac and respiratory monitoring every 2–4 hours, conduct oxygen therapy (nasal cannula, BIPAP/CPAP, AirVo low flow), and complete nursing interventions every 3–4 hours including vital signs, continuous cardiac monitoring, blood glucose checks every 4 hours, and neurological assessments. NIHSS assessments are also part of your clinical duties.

Equipment & Systems

You will work with Alaris pumps, Kangaroo pump, Pyxis medication dispensing, bedside computers, and Meditech documentation system.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• NIH certification
• Royal Blue scrubs required

Float assignment order is travelers first, then PRN staff, then staff by date last floated, minimizing disruption to your scheduled unit.
