About this role

BJC West – Saint Lukes South Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 91-day travel assignment in their Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You will work 3x12 night shifts, earning $2,262.82 weekly, with a start date of September 28, 2026.

Role Overview

This is a float pool position without a home unit. You will rotate across approximately 5 Med/Surg, Intermediate Care, and PCU departments, as well as other metro campuses as needed. Patient ratio is 1:5 across all shifts. You are required to work a minimum of 8 weekend shifts every six weeks (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday combination). Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments may be assigned per unit. No on-call duties are required.

Scheduling & Hours

Guaranteed hours are 3 shifts per 13 weeks; cancelled shifts must match your regular assigned shift length. Block scheduling is not available. You may take a maximum of 7 days of RTO, with all time off finalized at the time of submission. Both Kansas and Missouri licenses (or compact license) are required due to floating between facilities.

Qualifications

You must have 1 to 2 years of nursing experience; first-time travelers are accepted. Required certifications include BLS and NIHSS. A Missouri or Compact License is required. ACLS certification is preferred. Previous charge experience is preferred.

Required Skills

You will need expertise in cardiac telemetry, telemetry on-unit monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, MS/Tele, neuro stepdown, and pre/post cardiac cath care. You will manage patients with sepsis, wound care, ETOH withdrawal, suicidal ideation, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, and stroke. Preferred skills include sheath removal, feeding tube care and management, port access, blood product administration, and central line care and management.

Technology & Support

The facility uses Epic for charting. Equipment includes virtual nurses, 12-lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell. Interdisciplinary support is available through IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy.

Eligibility

Your home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted.
