PCU Registered Nurse Job in Overland Park, KS

BJC West – Saint Lukes South Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 91-day travel assignment in their Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You'll work three 12-hour night shifts per week at $2,257 weekly pay, starting October 12, 2026.

Role Overview

This is a float pool position across approximately five Med/Surg Intermediate and PCU departments, with potential assignments to other Metro campuses as needed. You'll maintain a patient ratio of 1:5 and manage adults and geriatric populations. Charge RN assignments and holiday shifts are expected as needed. Minimum eight weekend shifts (Friday/Saturday/Sunday combination) are required every six weeks.

Requirements

• 1 to 2 years of nursing experience; first-time travelers accepted
• Active BLS and NIHSS certifications
• Missouri or Compact license
• Previous charge experience preferred
• ACLS certification preferred
• Home address minimum 75 miles from facility

Clinical Skills

You'll apply expertise in cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, neuro stepdown care, pre/post cardiac catheterization, and management of conditions including sepsis, AFIB, GIB, stroke, renal failure, and ETOH. Wound care, sheath removal, feeding tube care, central line management, port access, and blood product administration are within scope. Preferred skills include virtual nurse systems and 12-lead EKG interpretation.

Work Environment

You'll use Epic for charting and work with equipment including AirVo, Voalte, Omnicell, and virtual nurse stations. No on-call is required. Guaranteed hours include three shifts per 13-week period; cancelled shifts match your assigned length. Maximum seven days of RTO allowed, finalized at submission.
