PCU Registered Nurse Job in Overland Park, KS

BJC West – Saint Lukes South Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) float pool position in Overland Park, Kansas. This 112-week travel assignment begins November 9, 2026, at $2,043 per week.

Position Details

• Schedule: 3x12 hour day shifts per week
• Float pool assignment across approximately 5 Med/Surg Intermediate and PCU departments and other Metro campuses as needed
• Patient ratio: 1:5 on days, nights, and weekends
• Minimum 8 weekend shifts required every six weeks (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday)
• Holiday and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit
• No on-call requirement
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks; cancelled shifts match regular shift length
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract
• Block scheduling not available

Requirements

• 1 to 2 years of nursing experience; first-time travelers welcome
• Current BLS, NIHSS, and Missouri or Kansas Compact license required at submission
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Core competencies: Cardiac Telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, Med/Surg Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, pre/post cardiac catheterization care
• Previous charge experience preferred; ACLS certification preferred

Clinical Skills and Environment

• Patient populations: Adults and Geriatrics
• Common diagnoses: Sepsis, wound care, alcohol withdrawal, suicidal ideation, renal failure, atrial fibrillation, GI bleed, stroke
• Preferred skills: Sheath removal, feeding tube management, port access/management, blood product administration, central line care
• Equipment: Virtual Nurses, 12-lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, Omnicell
• Interdisciplinary support: IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy
