PCU Registered Nurse Job in Overland Park, Kansas

Join BJC West - Saint Lukes South Hospital as a Registered Nurse in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a float pool position offering 3x12 night shifts, with a 91-day contract starting October 19, 2026. You'll earn $2,284 weekly.

As a float pool RN, you will not have a home unit. Instead, you'll rotate between approximately 5 units across Med/Surg Intermediate and PCU departments, with assignments spanning multiple Metro campuses as needed. Your patient ratio will be 1:5 on days, nights, and weekends. You must work a minimum of 8 weekend shifts every six weeks (combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments may be assigned as needed per unit.

Requirements:

• 1 to 2 years of nursing experience; first-time travelers are accepted
• Valid BLS, NIHSS, and Missouri or Compact RN license
• Strong skills in cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, MS/Tele, neuro stepdown, and pre/post cardiac catheterization care
• Previous charge experience is preferred
• ACLS certification is preferred

Position Details:

• Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13 weeks; cancelled shifts match your regular shift length
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling is not available
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract period
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility

Clinical Focus:

You'll care for adults and geriatric patients with diagnoses including sepsis, wound care, ETOH withdrawal, suicidal ideation, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, and stroke. You'll use equipment such as virtual nurse systems, 12-lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell, with Epic for charting. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.
