Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 36 and 48-hour contracts accepted
• Every other weekend required
• Must be able to work holidays - required to work 2 of 3 major holidays
• No call required
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract; no RTO during first week and must be pre-approved
• Float required to ED and MedSurg areas as needed
• Patient ratios: MS/Tele 1:6-1:7; PCU patients 1:3-1:4
• Work in an ED Holding unit caring for patients within the Emergency Department awaiting inpatient beds
• Patients may include any medical/surgical adult diagnosis including PCU level patients
• Must be able to keep up with fast-paced unit demands
• Contract staff will be assigned to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty, or disaster situations
• 2 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• MS/Tele and ER holding experience required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• CPI preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Scrubs: Navy
• Special equipment includes cardiac monitors, IV pumps, and other standard monitoring systems
• Unit systems: Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR
• 12-hour unit orientation
