Job Details:

• Work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
• Schedule includes every other weekend and holidays in rotation
• Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3/4 depending on patient acuity and holding needs
• Care for up to 1-3 ICU patients with comfort in managing ventilator-dependent patients
• Float policy requires travelers to be first to float, potentially to the emergency department or PCU for ICU or PCU holds
• Perform bedside shift report for every patient at each transfer of care
• Proficiency in reading telemetry strips required
• Advanced skills required: CRRT, advanced hemodynamics, and phlebotomy
• Administer breathing treatments including inhalers and nebulizers outside of the ICU
• Procedures performed on unit include post-op day 0 CABG, impellas, balloon pumps, Swan Ganz, and advanced hemodynamics
• Neuro procedures include experience with EVDs, bolts (Codman), and Arctic Sun for induced hypothermia
• Experience with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage procedures required
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Equipment includes i-mobile phones for each care team member and mobile computer workstations on wheels
• Required dress code: Navy uniform
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• BSN preferred, advanced certifications preferred, TNCC certification preferred
• Minimum 36 months of RN experience required with at least one year in an ICU
• One previous successful travel nursing assignment in a Meditech facility preferred
• 1+ years of experience acceptable
