Med Surg RN Job in Burlington, NC

Cone Health – Alamance Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 29-bed orthopedic and medical surgical unit in Burlington, NC. You will provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric populations on a 3x12-hour night shift schedule (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM), working every other weekend with no call required.

Position Overview

You will manage a patient ratio of 5–6 patients, delivering care that includes telemetry monitoring, wound care, IV management, blood product administration, orthopedic trauma care, and total joint replacement care. The unit accommodates both scheduled orthopedic cases and medical surgical patients, with some ED admissions that may present with high acuity. You will float to other units as needed and assume charge RN responsibilities as assigned.

Patient Population & Equipment

High-volume cases include total joint replacements, fracture repairs, and kyphoplasties. Moderate-volume cases encompass other surgical procedures, inpatient medical patients, and 24-hour observation patients. The unit features an on-site physical therapy gym, telemetry monitoring capabilities, and specialized equipment including CPMs, Buck's Traction, and neck and back braces.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Previous travel nursing experience
• Charge RN experience required
• BLS certification
• EPIC EMR experience
• Ability to interpret dysrhythmias
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)

Assignment Details

This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 9, 2026. You will work nights exclusively with every other weekend required. No call shifts are part of this role. Weekly pay is $2,029.
